Winchester Area SHRM (WASHRM) hosted their summer social on July 23 at the Winchester Country Club. Over thirty chapter members and their families gathered poolside for a relaxed networking opportunity and a fun way to beat the summer heat.

The chapter hosted a raffle for the SHRM Foundation, collected donations for the local SPCA, and they gave away free children’s books to guests age 10 and under; the books were donated to the chapter through a partnership with a local nonprofit organization, Gifts Giving Back, whose mission is to make the world a better place, one book at a time. Gifts Giving Back maintains a traveling library and partners with local organizations to get books in front of children and end barriers to literacy access.

This event highlights how SHRM membership is not just about professional development and networking, but also about strengthening our local communities and enjoying time together.
