We are excited to announce that the 2026 SHRM Virginia and DC Scholarship applications will open on June 1st! This is a fantastic opportunity for Chapter Members seeking to further their education and professional development in the field of Human Resources.

Application Dates: The scholarship will open on June 1st and close on September 1st, 2026.
Eligibility: Open to all Chapter members in good standing in Virginia and DC
Purpose: To support and advance the professional growth of HR practitioners within our community

Welcome to SHRM Virginia and DC’s website. We provide HR professionals in the Commonwealth of Virginia and District of Columbia information on local, statewide and national HR events, resources, initiatives and legislation to assist you in your day-to-day HR duties. For those who serve on local chapter boards, we are also here to assist you in your leadership role. HR Virginia was one of 12 human resource organizations from across the country to win the award from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the highest honor given to SHRM state councils and chapters for notable contributions to the human resource profession.

Commonwealth Stem Industry Internship Program (CSIIP)

The Commonwealth STEM industry Internship Program (CSIIP) is a no-fee online system that enables companies to select and hire spring, summer, and fall interns from a large pool of pre-qualifed college and university STEM students throughout Virginia. Funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia, CSIIP is managed by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium, and is partners with organizationa like Virginia SHRM.
