2017 VIRGINIA WORKFORCE CONFERENCE | Veterans: Closing the Workforce Gap Virginia Chamber Foundation

Virginia has the fastest-growing veteran labor force in the country, as well as the most veteran-owned small businesses. The 2017 Virginia Workforce Conference will bring together leading educators, employers, human resources managers, veteran groups, and policymakers to explore solutions to providing greater access to in-demand skills. This yearâ€s conference will focus on helping employers do a better job recruiting, hiring, and retaining highly-skilled veterans and translating their training to private sector employment.

The Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Program will also be presenting the 5th Annual V3 Awards in conjunction with the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Annual Workforce Conference. These awards will recognize V3-certified companies and strategic partners for their ongoing commitment to creating and increasing employment opportunities for Veterans in Virginia.

HR Virginia Wins Pinnacle Award for Bold Purpose to Thrive Program

HR Virginia was one of 12 human resource organizations from across the country to win the award from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the highest honor given to SHRM state councils and chapters for notable contributions to the human resource profession.

Commonwealth Stem Industry Internship Program (CSIIP)

The Commonwealth STEM industry Internship Program (CSIIP) is a no-fee online system that enables companies to select and hire spring, summer, and fall interns from a large pool of pre-qualifed college and university STEM students throughout Virginia. Funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia, CSIIP is managed by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium, and is partners with organizationa like Virginia SHRM.
