The 2024 Virginia SHRM State Conference is just a few weeks away! Here are some helpful tips and things to remember while you are preparing for your trip to Richmond.
Conference Schedule: The conference schedule has been posted; click HERE. The schedule offers 68+ breakout sessions, 3 keynote speakers and will offer up to 20 SHRM and HRCI recertification credits. Final credits and HRCI Business credits are pending. There will be plenty of networking opportunities with our Conference Partners and HR colleagues from across Virginia, DC, and beyond! Recertification codes will be distributed to attendees following the conference.
It’s Earth Month! Bring a reusable water bottle for use throughout the conference. The Conference Center has bottle-filling stations throughout to help us reduce our use of plastics during the event.
Hotel Greene Mini-Golf: Mon 4/22 6:30 – 10pm. Join OneDigital for a round of mini-golf, cocktails & hors d’oeuvres provided at this eclectic hotel. Advance sign-up required, limited to 65 attendees, $10. The Hotel Greene is a couple of blocks from the hotel, gather your friends for a quick walk. Transportation is not provided. You must View or modify an existing registration to sign-up and pay.
Professional Headshot Photos: Tue 4/23 8:45 – 4:30. We’ll have a professional photographer on-site to take your photo. Advance sign-up required and is limited to 82 attendees, until the schedule is full. $10 fee benefits the SHRM Foundation. You must View or modify an existing registration to sign-up & pay. You’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to select your timeslot. Your photo will be emailed to you after the conference!
Richmond Restaurant Week 4/22 – 4/28: Dinner is on your own during the conference. What a great time to check out some of the best restaurants in town! Participating restaurants offer a three course prix-fixe meal for $35.24 with $5.24 donated to Feed More. Click here to view participating restaurants. Plan a night out with your conference friends and make a reservation now, space fills up quickly! We have partnered with Richmond Tourism to have trolleys available to nearby restaurants so you can enjoy the local fare.
New this year – We have a Step Challenge! After you have sampled all the amazing food Richmond has to offer, you will want to get some steps in during session breaks. Medals will be awarded to the TOP TEN attendees with the most steps between 4/21/2024 and 4/24/2024.

Click here to support our fundraising efforts or to join the HR Virginia 5k team. While you are packing for the conference, don’t forget to bring a few toys to donate to the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation toy drive. Show your support for ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation by bringing a new (in its original packaging), unwrapped, smallish toy for the little ones, or a gift card to Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, etc, for teens.
